ON THE BACK BURNER

Things change and I don't even know . My inexpensive Electrolux vacuum that worked just fine, suddenly wouldn't hold a charge. I liked it because it was very light weight and could scoot under just about anything. It wasn't great,  but it did the job, I thought. I took it to the repair shop with the question " is it worth it to fix it" . Answer, No. Here is what I learned. Electrolux sold its name to Eureeka three years ago. There is no more Electrolux company. That was our first vacuum cleaner. a tank on wheels. The kids use to sit on it as I dragged it across a room. We had that vacuum for at least 40'years. We eventually took it to our cottage. We replaced the motor. It wouldn't die. Now I wish that I had it still. The repair man said that even he can't get parts for the old ones any more. And I learned something else. My light weight vacuum that I thought was pretty OK until it wasn't, was never meant to be used for rugs. it was meant to be a quick clean up of crumbs and things like that. no one told me , so I guess ignorance is bliss. now I need to buy a new vacuum. I have one room with carpet. Do I get a machine that will clean one room of carpet, or a quick clean machine that does crumbs. I'm going for crumbs. Noodle isn't that good with crumbs.
