Today, we bought Bob a tree. My son is developing an orchard with a row of plum trees, an asian pear tree ,an apple tree and a pear tree. We bought Bob an apple tree that will bear fruit in three years. The nursery had a number of different variety
of apple trees, so we chose by eating a few bites from apples that had fallen. Then we had the tree tagged for a later replanting time. It is still too warm here for transplanting, so we will wait a month or so and then my son and daughter in law will replant.
When I come again next summer, we can do an official blessing of the apple tree. Today , also marks the official date that my Dixie stove went in. It looks as if it has been here all along. I saw a similar stove in a mountain cabin in Denali that was dated
70 years old. So I am going to say that mine is that old. Now I have to cook something.I think it will be chicken soup!
