Port Townsend is a peninsular. There are places, most of the town actually, where you see two different bodies at water at the same time. When I take a left out of my sons street, I am at the top of a hill. I see a couple of acres of a shady
lagoon where people in the neighborhood walk around with their dogs, with friends, by themselves for exercise, a place where mellow street people rest in the heat of the day . Beyond that is another beautiful site. I see a lighthouse,a church steeple, houses
on a cliff, mountain with snow, clouds and water. It will be hard to leave this view. The days are getting shorter. I can tell when I tell the kids good night after they have had dinner with me. Now I ask them if they need a flashlight to walk the few feet
to their house. I can notice a slight change in the leaves. The lush Northwest greenery has some yellow in it now. I guess this had to happen. But I would like to put it off as long as possible. The end of summer here means that I just have to follow the heat.
