ON THE BACK BURNER

I've been digging up so many rocks for my fence that I lost a small diamond in my ring. I hate that. There is a hole where there should be a stone. Now I have to find a jeweler. The hole isn't noticeable because the stone was very small. I may wait until I get back to Venice and see my regular jeweler. When we lived in Evanston we had a jeweler. He was in our neighborhood, right on Main Street. We took watches in for repair. Bought one or two pieces of jewelry.Bought watch bands. We even took a special wall clock in to him to repair. He couldn't get the clock to work just right, so he made a house call, hung the clock on the wall and made corrections to it so that it would be balanced and work properly. He was an old fashioned jeweler. My jeweler in Venice has the makings of an old fashioned jeweler. He has watches and batteries for them. Watch bands and pretty trinkets. I don't know if he makes house calls. The clock is living in Israel now. That is pretty far for a visit.

Leona, we met the new Rabbi. He is very nice. He was asking us what classes we would like him to teach. When do you come home ?
