ON THE BACK BURNER

I am a city girl. I grew up in a city. We raised our kids in a city. We lived a suburb away from a very large city. Our cottage was in a very small town. We were never a part of it. We went  camping a few times. It was a novelty. Not something we were that comfortable with. Our first experience was with another family with as many kids as we had. They had tents and a cook stove and seemed to really like it. We slept in the back of our station wagon and froze. One other time we went with our son and daughter in law to a site in Colorado. we had Spot with us. It was a nice experience because our son and d- i -l knew what to do for us. This brings me to what I find a little puzzling. So many people around this area camp. Why. All they have to do is walk a few blocks from their comfortable homes that have AC and running water and heat and see everything , walk trails  that they would have to drive miles to see and experience if they lived some where else. And they can be back in time for dinner. I don't know, I must be missing something here.
