ON THE BACK BURNER

Port Townsend is a funny kind of town. They look the other way about RV's parking on the street or in a grocery lot for days. I've seen the same cars and Rv's there for  several weeks. A yellow station wagon looks like party city. It spills out onto the side walk. I was going to the food co op and at a tree along side of it, there were a bunch of homeless guys enjoying the shade tree. The pet store has a bin so that free dog food can be left for the homeless with pets. And another thing about this town. Every one bikes. Not for pleasure. They bike in place of taking the car. Up hill. A number of people have those bikes that are motorized. They are bikes, not scooters. They can pedal or go into motor mode. They cost about $1500.00. My son thinks that I should try one. Today, I saw something I haven't seen since we spent summers at our cottage in Michigan. A woman , going into Good Will had pink rollers in her hair. I swear. I went to Good Will to buy fabric. There is no fabric store in Port Townsend, so if you want material, you go to Good Will and buy curtains or sheets and then you have fabric. I needed to cover the back cushion of my dinette booth . And I found just what I wanted. Gotta love Port Townsend Good Will.
