ON THE BACK BURNER

From my cabin, I get an very up,close and personal, view of some fruit trees. When I arrived, three and a half weeks ago, the Asian pear tree had corn niblet sized fruit. Now,  you can tell it is going to be a pear. The same with the apple trees. I have never seen the start of an apple.I hope that I can eat one before I leave. There is a native tree here that almost looks like white wisteria. It hangs gracefully and seems to last a long time. I understand that the flowers aren't all that pretty after the they are through with the blossom cycle. i see two variety of poppies. The California , which are that golden color and the red ones that  am more familiar with. And speaking of poppies, there are legal canibis  shops every other road. I guess it is not a profitable crop any more because every one seems to be growing it. I heard that legalizing it took the livelihood away from some local hippies. They can't compete with the big growers. My son drove me out to this huge cannibis ( my spell check will not spell this word for me) facility. It is heavily guarded with all kinds of security cameras and gates. But you can smell it from the venting system. Actually, it smells like skunk. I was a little disappointed.
