ON THE BACK BURNER

I drove out of town to do an errand  and, and this is big ,I did not get lost. I was sent to pick up a piece of custom cut lucite to replace the pebble lucite on the front door of my cabin. I didn't like the pebble lucite. I couldn't see who was at the door and I felt that it kept me from seeing a beautiful view. But the important fact is that I only called my son once ,from the road ,to make sure that I take SR 19 and not 20  This was a empowering moment for me. And , I found my way back home, with no more phone calls. For someone with such a horrific sense of direction, this was a life changer. On the way home, I stopped at Habitat for Humanity and found the perfect rolling work table that I want. This Habitat is different from the one in Venice. It is like a high end furniture store. Some of the items have certified papers with them that show the original price, the history and how much they will take for it. I am not used to this. But I did find just what I want , at  a reasonable price. The hitch is that tomorrow is Senior day and I would get a discount if I wait. And , if I bring in a donation of furniture or some such, I get a 25 percent discount. I'm going for it. I told the manager that I will open the store with him and bring in a donation. I am keeping my fingers crossed that no one else sees the work table. Now if I don't get lost going back!
