ON THE BACK BURNER

I remember asking my son, last year, how any one can work here because it is so beautiful. His answer was that you really can't work because it is so beautiful. I believe him. I am sitting on my sweet smelling new wood deck and I hear the ferry boats sounding their horns. I later found out that the fog was so thick that the ferries kept sounding the horns and some had to actually stop and send someone up on the bow to physically look for small crafts. If I go into my sons house and stand next to a certain kitchen counter, I can see the sound. Sitting outside, I can actually see little puffs of pollen coming off of the red clover, which the humming birds and bees love . I love it too, but I am a little concerned that Noodle might encounter a bee and that the bee might win. This place has to be the coffee drinking capital of the US. Seattle is known for its coffee, but this place has coffee shops where ever you look. I need to take a photo of the shop we had coffee in yesterday. They have what looks like a trough , a board with circles cut out. The biodegradable filters are put onto the circles, you order what coffee you want , they put the correct amount of fresh ground beans into the filters, pour in the exact amount of temperature controlled water , it seeps and drips into your coffee cup which was put right below the filter. Then you take your cup and can either sit inside at a window that looks out over the sound, or do what we do.. go outside at little tables and drink and people and dog watch. The coffee was really very good, the company even better.
