ON THE BACK BURNER

After living in Florida for as long as I have, I have forgotten seasons. My grandson is visiting my daughter, his aunt, in Colorado and they are planning to go skiing . I find that hard to conceptualize. I look out and see blue skies, no clouds, trees in greenery, flowers blooming, birds making bird noises. And I have on flip flops. And the thermometer in my car was registering 81 today. One of us is confused. It's probably them. And the AC is on. I don't think that I ever turned it off, come to think of it. When I walk Noodle in the afternoon, we are already feeling the heat. I wonder how he will adjust to being in the  north west. I did buy him a sweater at GoodWill, just in case he needs extra layering when we get there. I don't know how I will explain to him about a sweater in June, July, and August.
