ON THE BACK BURNER

I went to the grocery store today and there was no line in the express line. I diligently count my items. I sometimes count as one an item that I have two of. After all they are the same thing. Works for me. I went to the store to get three things. I came out with a few extra items, but forgot the one thing that I really needed and went specifically to get. Stamps. I am so glad that they are sold in grocery stores now. Our local post office always has such a line for services. I use to go to a little post office that sold trinkets, junky ,kitschy things. People knew each other. Then it closed.Just one day, it wasn't there. I needed stamps to send a get well card to a daughter's mother in law. I  use to have engraved stationary and even engraved post cards. How times have changed. I receive cards every now and then but I can not remember the last time that I got a hand written letter. I think that kids don't learn cursive any more either. I remember that my father had that beautiful handwriting that I think was called Spenser.Nice and flowing. I have a problem writing straight .I write uphill. Maybe that is an indicator of my outlook on life. that's better tan down hill. right?
