I had a wonderful day. As I was being driven by a son in law from the Sarasota National Cemetery to Mayakka State Park, I just had one those moments when everything just felt right. I was completely relaxed, and I realized it. A daughter
and son in law were here for a brief visit. We were "graving ", then followed by the visit to the State park. We visited Bob' s grave, reading different markers and looking around to see who his neighbors were. There is something very peaceful about
this cemetery. I don't know if it is because it is so well taken care of, if it is the fact that it is so rigidly perfect, with the graves exactly in order, so clean with white markers, under that perfect Florida blue sky. There is no pretension, everyone
there is equal. I find it quite settling to go there. We then saw alligators at the State park , which always thrills visitors. Me , not so much. The evening brought us to the beach to watch a sunset, that wasn't, but we didn't particularly care. The company
was good, the take out food was good and the wine was good. In my case root beer . It was all good.
