today was just spectacular. I did my usual trip to the Sarasota National Cemetery and then on to Mayyaka State Park. As I was slowly driving to my favorite spot, I saw deer . In all of the years that I have been going there, I never saw a deer.
Today, I saw 2. Then a Hawk flew across the car windshield. I had to stop and watch it. I was about as close as you can get to a bird of prey. After I settled in with my Starbuck coffee cup and cold coffee that I bring from home, I watched a spoonbill roseate
right at the waters edge. Then the usual ,egrets, heron ,alligators and anhinga's. I have never seen so much wild life in such close contact and for so long. It was awesome. The park was quite crowded, which is the way it will probably be for the next few
months. I can't ride my bike there for awhile. Too dangerous. I had some close calls just driving out of the park. Many bikers can't ride in a straight line, they wobble and that makes me nervous. Some of those really large third wheel trailers were also sharing
the narrow roadway. I was glad to get back on a major highway. I felt safer.
