ON THE BACK BURNER

I live in a development that is very creative when it comes to naming the streets. We have: Bird Bay East, Bird Bay West, Bird Bay South, Bird Bay North, Bird Bay Circle. You get the picture. When someone comes to my house for the first time, I stand outside at the curb with my cell phone and wait for them to call me saying that they have been going in circles and where am I. But today, I came into a development that has the right idea. One of the streets is named,Easy Street. Some day, I want to live on Easy Street. I am not just ready for it , yet. I love street names. In New Orleans, I lived on Hurst Street. I never did find a reason for that name. In Evanston, we lived on Reba Place. I always felt it was like Baltic Avenue in Monopoly. You could afford to buy property on it. Hold out and later , make a killing on the inflated real estate market. One of our daughters lived on a street named, Lone Tooth Drive. Another daughter lives on Park Place. Every town has a Park Place,or Park Avenue. It sounds so ritzy. And so does the Monopoly game. The real estate is more expensive there. In the game that is. If I could name a street, I think I would call it Happy Street. I haven't come across that one yet on my travels. I bet it is out there some place. Probably in Iowa.
