I taught for a few years in a Catholic school. I thought that I would be there until I retired. Then , suddenly, the nuns decided to close the school. During the time that I was there, the nuns often told me that I would get my reward in
heaven. They were wrong. My reward is now. Having supportive kids and their spouse, having super supportive grandchildren,that's the reward, and it is here on the ground. It is nice to think about a heavenly place . But the reality is that life is here,
both feet on the ground type of life. I remember being on a flight with a very young grandchild. He had the window seat and was on his knees looking out the widow, while we flew through some wispy clouds. I asked him what he was doing and he said that he was
looking for Charlie, a dog of ours who had recently died. Seems that the message that he got was that way up in the sky was heaven ,and the people and in this case dog, who had died could be found here. I often joke about getting my reward in heaven, but how
much nicer to get the reward while I can still appreciate it and tell the people that I love that I appreciate them. So kids, their spouses and 5 grandsons, love ya' all.
