ON THE BACK BURNER

Today was a rest day. After my shift of trashing / garbage pick up, I needed to nit do anything today. Someone asked me if I would rather be a bag lady or a garbage lady. After a minutes thought, I said   that I would be a bag lady. It sounds more classy, I thought. There was a time when I would joke that if I ever became a bag lady , I move into my athletic club, The East Bank Club in Chicago. I hadn' t figure out how to get into the club if I were a bag lady, but the club had everything I could possibly want if I didn't have a home. Now, when I see the homeless people around my neighborhood, that is a heartless kind of statement. I have so much and I see these people walking with all of their belongings in a backpack. I see these people walking at all hours of the day. I have a feeling that   they walk most of the day. Then I wonder where they go at night. I hear that there are " places" in the woods that have colonies of homeless. I don't know if this is true. I don't know how I got from garbage pick up to my favorite East Bank Club in Chicago and ended up with the homeless in Venice. I guess when you are tired, your mind just bounces around like that.
