ON THE BACK BURNER

I am rereading "Night" by Elie Wiesel. I had to stop several times through the reading. I don't know why I decided to read it again. I had forgotten the writing. I read it years ago. Many years ago. I knew the story, but forgot his writing. I also forgot how slim the book was. In his forward, he told how difficult ít was to find a publisher. It would not be a popular subject . Who wanted to be reminded. Now, we still want to know: How could this have happened. How did we all let it. His family was warned to leave. They thought that it couldn't happen . They thought people wouldn't let that happen. I guess that some where along the way, enough people turned out to be not such good examples of what it means to be our brothers keepers. Never again.Never again.Never again.
