sitting. If you were lucky and called dibs early , you could get the hammock. We , in our family , got really good at sitting. We discussed if a tree fell in the woods that we were in view of, would we hear it.And intellectual things like that. We listened
to the Cubs play baseball. Harry Carey singing "take me out to the ball game"in the 7 th inning stretch. We would move our outdoor furniture around to accommodate the shade. In cooler days, we moved to follow the sun. I could sit and watch the kids swimming
or sailing. I didn't t even need to leave my Mom post. Our dogs were pretty smart. The beach view of our cottage had a set of stairs, going down to the beach, while the kitchen end was flat. The dogs would walk to the kitchen end so that they didn't need to
walk up the stairs. We started doing the same thing . With the dogs, this meant that one of us would have to get up from our sitting position to open the kitchen screen door. After we let them in, they sat too .
