I asked a person who writes a Jewish Genealogy column in our local Jewish Federation monthly paper about tracing my paternal family. My fathers family evaporated from my life. Why didn't they stay in touch. Do I have second and third cousins,
are some of them alive.He came up with the names of five brothers and I think two sisters. That is a lot of relatives to ignore. What were the family dynamics that they didn't stay close. Why , in some census they said they were born in Meridian , Mississippi
and in others, Romania. How can some families stay close . I would be really unhappy to learn that my four kids lost touch with each other. One nice tradition that Christian families seem to do is get together for Christmas. I guess Jews
try for Passover, but eating matzoh for days is not my happy time. We seem to get together for weddings ,(happy ,)Bar and Bat Mitzvah, (happy, )funerals, (sad. )We have to do better .
