I was just wondering why I can accept a squirrel running around, but a rat would have me disgusted and standing on the table top.Both are rodents. One has a bushy tail and one doesn't. Is this what makes the squirrel more attractive. When we lived
in Evanston , we heard some rustling in the walls of our old Victorian house. Squirrels ! The exterminator told us that there was a nest . I was tolerant of that and not overly crazied. But when we were remodeling our kitchen,butlers pantry, breakfast
room, and kitchen pantry and the walls were broken into, and there were mice all over the place, I went home to my parents with the then three kids. There were black squirrels running around Evanston. The myth was that they were set free from
the science lab at Northwestern. I don't know if that was an urban legend or not . I must attract squirrels because I am remembering that we opened our cottage one year and found two dead flying squirrels dead in our pink insulation. I guess that they
got in and couldn't find their way out. I would have shown them the door.
