I met, via Skype, one of my favorite authors. It is amazing that I sat ,here in Venice, and saw and heard and able to talk to, the author who was sitting in his office, in Chicago. I have to stretch my brain to figure out how all of this can be
happening. It's special enough that he took the time to talk to a room full of women in a book club,but the modern technology is something that I saw when I read encyclopedias in " the future" section, many years ago when I was sick in bed with nothing
to do. I still marvel that those huge planes stay up in the air. I get boats, but those many story cruise ships, how do they stay afloat. These aren't really questions, they are statements of awe. And how does my iPad know when I have misspelled a word.
I've looked. There is nobody inside of it.
