ON THE BACK BURNER

Noodle has a standing appointment at the groomers, every five weeks. Maybe that is too long a stretch for him. He has 11 days to go and he is just so dirty looking and unkempt, that I decided that I had to give him a bath. I have never bathed him. And now I know why. He screamed and cried and grabbed my arm with his little fat legs. It was pathetic. I put him in the sink with the spray faucet, thinking that would be an easy thing. He really surprised me. The groomer has never said that he carried on like this. If this is the way that he behaves when he gets groomed, the groomer is worth everything that she gets. I was wet from shirt to pants when I finished and really, he didn't look that much better. His skin is not pink and clean looking. It is a blotchy black and some white. That makes him sorta grungy looking, I think. Plus being so near the ground and with a bad habit of digging ,he is just one dirty dog. Now that he is dry and he has forgiven me, he does feel silky and looks  a little cleaner. I'm glad that he forgave me. I wouldn't want to go to bed with him mad at me.
