It's always a good day when you learn something. I attended a gathering of women where we discussed freely,our feelings relating to death, from being a mourner, to feeling comfortable when expressing condolences. Of course religion came into the
discussion , along with traditions,personal experiences and awful things people say when they mean no harm or hurt. This was a chance to talk openly about death. As our Cantor pointed out, " we are all going to die". We tossed around some practical thoughts
, like make your wishes known before you die. This open discussion of a subject that for many years was not mentioned was not a grieving session and never had that intent. We were a group of women who came together as a discussion group. We will met
again after the new year for another learning experience . It was good.
