ON THE BACK BURNER

I didn't have this on my bucket list , but I put it on, after the fact. And if I did something on my bucket list, does that mean that I can't do it again? Just asking. I always wanted to go to a horse show, especially since there is a facility down the road from me. I pass it at least once a week and several times during the year, I see that there is a show going on. I  can see into the complex and there are really large horse vans and very large circus type tents set up , along with an entrance that says welcome. I hesitated to go, because of Bob's limitations. It is outdoors and the seating is bleacher seats. But I saw recently that there was to be a huge jumping show with international equestrians and a prize pot of some big money. $25,000.00 big bucks. I talked to some  friends who had been at a show there and we made plans to go together. What a fun time. The people that I went with, also asked some friends and a neighbor, so we had a nice size group ,sitting in the bleachers. The crowd, and there were a lot of people, were different than a baseball crowd or going to a different type of sporting event. Everyone politely clapped when a horse and rider completed the trials . No yelling,no side remarks. The horses and riders had certain patterns to follow and hopefully the horse didn't knock down any of the poles ,or fall. A few knocked some  poles, a few refused to jump, one threw his rider. but it was so civil. It wasn't overly exciting, but it was interesting to see how much control a person had to have over these beautiful, expensive ,heavy weight horses. I plan to go back for another event when ever that is. It was one check mark on my bucket list.
