ON THE BACK BURNER

I was thinking, just the other day, how lucky I am. I have friends that cross all kinds of interests, social activities, ages and religions. That's  the way I like it. I start every day, usually meeting a pet owner or a early morning walker. No one can resist Noodle. He doesn't even know that they are there or that there is a dog usually attached to them. When they, the people, put their hand near Noodles nose, he comes alive, sorta. When the dog sniffs his rear and then Noodle reciprocates , it makes my day. That makes Noodle more like a normal dog instead of a special needs dog. I have friends that have become family. They have seen me through the worse that can happen to a person. I have friends that I see once a week to play a social game of Mah Jong. We play, but we talk a lot and laugh a lot  and go out to eat as often as we can. Then I have my family of friends from our Temple. We all have a special feeling for each other. Our ages seem not to matter . There is something different about this Congregation. We celebrate our Judaism in different ways. We are every shade of Judaism and then some. Our Congregation is known for embracing who ever walks in our door. And that is a truism. I am really really lucky to be where I am.
