My timing has been pretty good. I was in South Carolina last week. The weather was wonderful. Now I am in Orlando, Florida, and the weather is typical for us, at this time of the year. I understand that in Venice, where I usually am, it is windy
and rain. No more than that. That is being in the right place at the right time.. as not in the path of a hurricane. When I was a kid, I lived not far from the levee ,in New Orleans. I can remember the principal coming into the classroom and asking for the
boys to be excused so that they could fill sand bags to bank along the levee. We thought it was a holiday . I looked forward to hurricanes. No school, Daddy home, bath tub filled with water. I never understood that one, but I guess now it was for the toilet.
I think I thought that was for drinking. We still had a real ice box, so if the electricity went out, it made no difference. That was way before tv or computers, so if we were without electricity, we kids felt like we were camping out. Last year when
we had Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, Venice was lucky and except for rain, we personally, were fine. Mother Nature always win, so the watch word here is take heed and protect yourself. It's no holiday.
