ON THE BACK BURNER

I went horse and buggy driving today. We went to Beaufort, about 10 minutes away and took a buggy ride around the historical district, which is most of the town. The town is one big historical district. The houses are architecturally beautiful and surprisingly, many were for sale.It must be hard to find a buyer for a historical home. The streets are very narrow and have just enough room for a horse and buggy. The cars are used to making way for the horses and tourists. Did you know that horses like moss. I never knew that. Our driver said that it must taste sweet to them. I also learned that the police department will take the temperature of the street and if it is a certain temp., the horses can't go out .That is a good thing for the horses and probably the driver who must get pretty hot and dry doing all of the talking and directing a horse who wants to stop along the route and eat moss.
