ON THE BACK BURNER

The lavender scent kept me sleeping so soundly that I didn't want to get up. What helped was that it was wonderfully cool and also , I had no idea what time it was. There  is a 3 hour time difference and my digital watch hadn't yet adjusted to the difference. My yurt is surrounded by trees so for the longest time, I thought that it was raining. It was the leaves rustling in the breeze. The sun did come out for a short while, but for the most part, it is grey and delightfully cool. We walked to the water, which is Puget Sound and were surrounded by a boating community. There are boats everywhere. On the water, raised on boat stands,  in driveways,on top of cars. All sailing boats. Some are modern fiber glass, but mostly they are wooden. This week end is a Wooded Boat festival. My daughter in law says that it is a law here that everyone has a boat. I'm taking my camera.
