ON THE BACK BURNER

When I took Noodle out for  his last walk, which really does not qualify as a real walk, since he only walks from the house to the driveway, I looked up at the sky. The moon was almost full, but clouds were threatening to overtake it. The clouds were rather menacing. About 40 minutes later, there was a downpour. Who knew that was coming? It's these fast outbursts that make me glad that I walked Noodle when I did. I don't mind getting wet, but he definitely does not like it. For a dog who can't see very well, I am always surprised when he walks around a puddle. Is he fooling me and he can really see.Maybe because I have faithfully, almost, put drops in his eyes twice a day for a year ,has helped him to have some vision. When we first rescued him, his eyes were always crusted and yucky( scientific description here). I would put warm compresses on them , which he loved. maybe all of this did help his vision. His eyes are still covered with  cataract film, but they don't crust or look unhealthy.  A little TLC certainly has helped this little guy. I showed his picture to a person who has never met him and she wanted to know how tall he was when he stood. He was standing. It runs in our family.
