You have to accept that after you make the person that you are caring for comfortable, have given meds, have straightened the sheets, have given a drink of water, have adjusted the bed, straightened their clothing and given them a hand squeeze
and a second kiss, there is nothing more that you can do to make it better. Accept that you have done everything that you know how to do to make them comfortable and relax. Them and you. There is this magical line that you may never find . Some times
nothing works and you just hope that both you and the care taker can get most of a nights sleep. Occasionally you may even sound like Big Nurse in "One Flew Over the Coo coo's Nest". Can't be helped. It is better to sound like an authority than
get angry. Angry doesn't count in this imperfect world that you now occupy. It doesn't make you feel better ,only guilty for getting to this place. So do what you have to do. You know that it is your best effort.
