ON THE BACK BURNER

I seem not to be able to follow through on my knitting. I have at least three projects going at the same time. One was supposed to be a mystery knit. Every week , you get one part of the unknown pattern . You knit that clue and after several weeks, you have something that you can identify. And maybe use. Last year , I knitted a purse. It is hanging on the back of our guest bathroom, waiting to be used as a dirty clothes hamper. So far,  none of our guest has used it. This years mystery , I thought was going to be a stuffed animal kind of mystery. It turned out to be a wine bottle holder. I stopped knitting when I learned that . I'm not sophisticated , but I draw the line at a knitted wine bottle holder. Then I have at least two scarfs going. One has no pattern, just knit away and let the yarn show off. The other has a pattern and I can't concentrate on keeping the pattern straight. Now , I decided to make a toddler cape, adjusting the instructions down from adult size. It's enough of a challenge to keep me interested until I'm not. I have enough yarn stashes to knit just about anything I can think of. Too bad, because I love to go to the yarn store. I go to grocery stores and yarn shops when I travel. The yarn I am using for the toddler cape, I bought  in the French Quarter in New Orleans. I like to be able to attach a place to a project. I bought some yarn in Jerusalem, the last time I was there. It was so cold, that I had to actually finish the project so I could wear it while I was there. I wore it here in Florida once. If our climate keeps changing, I might get to wear it again , next winter.
