ON THE BACK BURNER

I still haven't figured out why Saturdays feel different to me. Everything seems to move at a slower pace. I am not observant enough to completely take the day as a day of rest, but it still feels different. I am more leisurely in my thoughts and movements. I have always taken this day to do just what makes me happy. Today it was a trip to Lowe's to just walk up and down the aisles. I asked a few questions of the sales people. Got my answers, bought a few cleaning products, looked at home improvement magazines and left. It was wonderful. I returned an un-opened carton of vinyl tiles that I bought months ago. I didn't have my receipt, but with the credit card that I used originally, I was able to get my credit. Pretty good for customer relations. So far, nothing about today contributes to anxiety, rushing or stress. Considering that I am retired and every day should be like this, I am still wondering why this day can be so different.
