ON THE BACK BURNER

It occurred to me that I have spent a night away from Bob before. I have spent a night away from whatever dog we have owned before. But I have never ,to the best of my memory, spent a night in my own house without one of them. I brought Bob to his respite house today so that I can have a 5 day respite, and he seems to be comfortable there. His room is magnificent,he has a screened porch that overlooks a brook. We haven't mastered the phone system there, yet, but the nurses are very nice about getting Bob to the phone. He seemed to be in good spirits when I called to check on him.I think that I can relax ,knowing that he is well looked after. I just had to remind him that room service ends when he gets home again and not to fall in love with his two attentive nurses.
Noodle was harder to leave. I didn't want him to think that he was being abandoned again.I didn't wash his bedding so he would have a familiar scent with him. I brought over his neon green crate, plus another bed with a knitted blanket. I typed out a page and1/2of what to do with him. The person that I left him with is very sensitive to pups, so I Know that he is in good hands. I really hated to leave Noodles.
Now it is my turn for R&R. I have my fastpasses and a list of attractions to see at Disney. I'm ready to hit the road.
