Have I ever mentioned that Bob sees musical notes in color?
There is a word for this. It is called "synesthesia".Cool,isn't it. I never knew this about him until just a few years ago. He never mentioned it because he thought everyone saw
notes in color. I see the notes in my violin instruction books, in black and white. How ordinary. Some of our kids inherited Bob' ear and ability to play instruments. Some of our kids can't carry a tune. They take after my side of the family. I also gave some
of them my lack of a sense of direction .I blame my sense or lack of direction acuity ,on the fact that I come from New Orleans, which is crescent shaped. So ,there, you are uptown, downtown,across the river, or out of town. Then , while we lived in the Chicago
area, Lake Michigan was always east. There we only had three directions to choose from. North(Cubs), South(White Sox) or West. I don't know what West did. I'll give them da (Bears). The first time that I went downtown on a bus, which was south of where we
lived, I got lost coming home. I didn't remember which side of the street to stand on to catch the bus going north, so I could get home. That was scary for me. I was on the wrong side of the street and I wanted to go home. I was such a green horn. Now I use
Waze for every time I drive. She doesn't get mad at me when I change my plans and I don't listen to her.She just recalculates. but she doesn't chastise me. I like her.
