ON THE BACK BURNER

I use to talk to a Grandson as he walked home from work, or on his way to meet some friends. He on his cell phone, me on my land line. That was always fun. I knew when he got to his destination, because the conversation abruptly ended. That was OK with me, because I had minutes of one on one with him for minutes at a time. Tonight, a daughter called as she was driving home. She put me on speaker phone so her hands were on the steering wheel. That didn't work so well, probably because she is rather high in the mountains and reception isn't all that great in a car. But the idea was terrific. We caught up and now we can establish a pattern of her driving home and me getting ready for bed.Our daughter ,in Israel, calls me in the early morning, afternoon in her area. I am often out with Noodle at that time, but she often calls back .My afternoon, her night time. I have clocks set on my computer to tell me all of the different time zones my kids are in. I love this special phone time. So kids, call your Mother.
