I am trying to eat everything in our refrigerator and make space for the dishes that we are making for Passover. Passover will be here soon and since we are having the Seder here at our house, I Need fridge space. I made the gefilte fish and it is resting
comfortably in the freezer. The recipe is from my special '"Gefilte manifesto"cookbook that our Grandson gave to my daughter, his Mother, and me. I am supposed to be sharing the book with my daughter, but I had to have my own. Now we both have one. I
first made this recipe for gefilte fish while I was in Jerusalem, and when we were still sharing the book. I had to go to the fish monger, make myself understood, then try to figure out what he was saying back to me. I think we were both speaking English,
but with different accents. I didn't have him grind the fish, a service that I found out ,is what you do there. We did it with a hand chopper. Her food processor is the wrong wattage, for Israel, or something like that. You can plug it in, it will just burn
out the machine. She should have left it in the states. Chopping by hand worked just fine. With my food processor, here in Venice, it is a breeze. Now I have to make the horseradish. My eyes are stinging already.
