I am going to discuss a subject that everyone puts off. Making funeral arrangements. I decided that I should do this while I didn't have to make such a decision. Here is the bottom line. Funerals are expensive. And you can pay on lay away, no interest.
You have choices, such as the casket, urn or plastic bag in a brown paper bag(for people who want to scatter the ashes) . You can have embalmment or cremation. Jews bury within 24 hours, if they can, so I think the body is just refrigerated. The deceased
will be picked up ,brought to the funeral home and then to the facility where the services will be and then to the cemetery. And you get some note cards or a program for the service, I think. I zoned out at this point. If you are a veteran and have your discharge
papers and are in the VA's system, you can be buried at a National Cemetery , where your remains will be brought from the funeral home. The biggest expense is the casket. A plain wooden box costs a lot. A fancy one with embellishments costs way more. I have
now given you all that you need to know about funeral arrangements. Hopefully, it will be a long time until any of us need this information.
