Today is my Grandson, Abe 's,big day.He announces officially that he is running for public office. I wish that I were there to see and hear him.I have some early memories of him that always makes me smile. One is of the time we were on our road trip
from Chicago to Estes Park, CO., where we rented a cabin at the YMCA of the Rockies. The kids were enrolled in the summer camp program there , while the adults hiked or did nothing at all. As we approached the camp, after driving two days, Abe started singing,Jesus
loves Me, yes he does. For a little Jewish guy ,we asked him where did this come from. He answered that he was practicing for when he got to camp. Good to be prepared. Then , still in the YMCA, but another year, we were all in the van, driving to town,
when he put his head out of the window and yelled at some kids"You don't know bagels, Your bagels are white bread with a hole..". They had been having a discussion of bagels and a Brooklyn boy just had to have the last word. Funny times . So you go ,Abe, the
family is proud of you.
