Do you wonder how some things got their names. I am looking at my coffee table. To the best of my memory, I have never served coffee off of it. More likely, it is a catch all table, with a handy landing place for mail, books and a resting place for
feet, when you don't have street shoes on. Right now, I am not coming up with other words that make you wonder, where did they come up with this name. But I do think that English is a strange language. Their, there, right , as in correct, right, as in directions,
write, know,no, to, too, two, or, sea, see. This is addictive. There is no feminine or masculine . In Hebrew, and in other languages , you have to know who you are talking to when you say "How are you", If you use the wrong tense, you get reminded that you
did. Why are ships "she's"? Are cars,"he".I have trouble with dogs. All dogs were "he", until we got Cricket. Now dogs are "she". Sorry Noodle.
