I just saw a TV ad for Butter Fingers Candy. I ate one ,once. I seem to remember that is was fairly good. Growing up in New Orleans, I ate mostly local candy. Pralines were a given. My friend's Grandmother, called Grand Mamere even made them sometimes.
I have my favorite place to buy them and my niece brings me a box every time she and her husband visit. They have added a real treat ,bringing me, when they come, once a year, Creole Cream Cheese. It's like creme fres with cream cheese, and full fat cream...only
better, much better. There was a chocolate bar that I loved. It was Elmer's Gold Brick.I think it was milk chocolate with pecans. Period. Then there was Heavenly Hash. That was its name. Marshmallows, pecans and chocolate. I wonder if all of the kids that I
grew up with were hyper from all of the sugar we consumed. And don't forget the Coke that washed down the chocolate. Man those were the good old days.
