ON THE BACK BURNER

We have a neighborhood hawk. He use to settle in a very tall pine tree that went down in the hurricane. He hasn't found a spot yet, so we haven't seen too much of him. Yesterday, he flew by with a mouse in his claws. Nature first hand, right out of my lanai. And what was chasing him.. a black crow. That hawk was moving fast and the crow was  squawking  like mad. The hawk was running for dear life with the mouse still in his grasp. At this point, I didn't know if the mouse was alive. I hope that he wasn't and I hope the hawk had a decent meal. The crow seemed able to take care of himself.
