ON THE BACK BURNER

What a treat. A concert to honor a special lady who was a member of our Congregation. The artist, were mostly young musicians , who have such talent, such youth, such futures that it boggles my mind. There would be no way to put a dollar value on the talent that were introduced to ,tonight. The kids are just so dedicated. Some of them started playing instruments at 3 years of age. I hate to say that some of our kids wouldn't even talk at 3. That's a little bit of an exaggeration, but no one played an instrument until they took music in school. The talent that we heard tonight didn't come from a parent telling the kid to go practice. I suspect that these kids had to be told to go outside and play ball. I was particularly interested in the violinist. I also loved her violin case. A case can say a lot about the instrument. I bet she never lets that case and violin out of her sight. I was on a flight once, and a cello had it's own seat. Her violin looked, from where I was sitting, like a violin, but her bow.. that I was envious of. I would wager that it cost many zero's behind the first figure. I think mine cost less then $50. Maybe less then $30? on sale. It was a very special early evening happening and I think we could feel Thelma's presence in the room.
