ON THE BACK BURNER

Noodle is resting comfortably after his emergency surgery to remove a stone. We, on the other hand, are at loose ends. I don't think that I can live in a house without a dog. Noodle does absolutely nothing. But without him, the house seems empty and still. The ER Vet gave us several scenarios of what he could find and do for Noodle. Fortunately , for all of us, it was option A, the least invasive and ultimately less expensive. I thought that once we stopped taking the kids to the pediatrician, our expenses were over .With a pet, you pick up right where you left off with the Pediatrician, except now , we call him our Vet. There are yearly inoculations, monthly flea and tick meds, Glycosomin   so he doesn't become arthritic ,drops and pills for his eyes, and his every two and a half weeks grooming , because his white coat gets so dirty looking. But, having him gives us such pleasure that after I write down this list of what we spend on him, I'll forget it and just wait to get him back home. The Vet said that we shouldn't let him get too excited, to keep him quiet with just short walks. He doesn't know that he just described Noodle. My little walking caterpillar.  How you like your steak ?
