ON THE BACK BURNER

Today, we made our weekly trip to the library. We get so many books at one time that we carry a L.L.Bean boat bag, large, to carry all of the books we take out. Although Bob can't articulate the contents of the books that he reads, he reads 3 or 4 non fiction books a week. Our book load is so heavy that we have worked out a cute system. We each take on strap of the boat bag and share the weight of the books. We look like two little old elves going off to Grandmothers house. I get ,usually, cook books that I would not want to buy. Today, I borrowed a book on the strength of a sticky note I found inside of it, as I was flipping through  the pages. On a yellow sticky, it said"OMG. Fantastic. make just like she wrote it." How could I not bring it home. It was for roasted chicken baked on slices of sour dough bread. Roasted chicken ! If a person took the time to write that note, I have to make it. I hate when someone writes on library books. The nerve of them to think that their opinion matters to me. But a sticky note, now that is more personal. I don't know why, but it is. I'm not hungry right now, but as soon as I am, that chicken gets baked, but good.
