ON THE BACK BURNER

I've watched Noodle and his poor vision adapt to living with us. I sometimes feel sorry for him. Especially when he thinks that I am somewhere where he is looking and  I am not there. He will some times stare at the place where he thinks I should be. I have my dining room table extended and a card table at one end, preparing for some friends to come over . He walked into the extra chairs because they were not there before. He really bumped ,hard. I felt bad for him,but he just moved on. I like his attitude. When we walk , he uses the sidewalk as his guide. Because of his mended pelvic ,he doesn't actually walk in a straight line. He sometimes steps off of the sidewalk in that tiny space before the grass grows and he trips. He just rights his course and keeps moving. I noticed that he feels much more secure when his leash is on him. I use to take Crickets leash off when we hit the driveway. She would run to the door, free of any restraints. As soon as Noodle felt comfortable and always toddled to the door  when we returned from a walk, I decided to take off his leash so that he could feel free. He didn't know which way to go. He was confused. That's when I realized how important his leash was to him. He is a spunky little dog. As soon as he bumps noses with another dog or a persons hand, his tail starts waging. He's a happy , impaired puppy. I'm glad we got him.
