ON THE BACK BURNER

I once talked about how brilliant I thought the person is who designs cardboard boxes. It is a marvel when you go to break them down and you see how they have constructed the box to be a perfect rectangle that when punched in a certain way, makes a container for whatever is being shipped. Today, I have another concern. This is about staples. I had to add some to my old fashioned , green stapler that Bob used all of the years he was a free lance writer. I inherited it by way of confiscation. I have an old box of staples. They ,too ,are probably from Bob's business days, which ended with his hemorrhagic stroke in 1998(August 28th to be exact). The box contained 5000 staples. Here is my concern. How can a business survive selling 5000 staples that never seem to run out.If the company relied on me,they would be out of business, which they may very well be. How many staples do you need in a life time. Like when was the last time you actually bought a box of staples.I worry about things like this. It takes my mind off of the really serious issues that are all around me.
