I have had a few disappointments in my life. I won't talk about all of them, but here are a few disappointments that I will share. Even though I have never celebrated Christmas, I have always been disappointed that on December 25th, I did not have a
new car in my driveway with a big red ribbon on it. I am serious. I watch that ad every year at this time, I say out loud to whoever is near me, that I would love to wake up December 25th and have a new car with a red ribbon on it, in my driveway,or as the
case maybe now, under my car port. The other thing that disappoints me is that a dog has never followed me home, or I have never found a dog on the side of a road and taken it home. The best I ever did was here in Venice, during a heavy rain, a dog was
scratching at our slider to get in. He was wet and friendly. We called animal control and they checked his chip and he did , indeed, have an owner and was reunited with them. End of that story. Another disappointment is that I have almost never, not
completely never, but almost never, won a lottery. I won a dollar once. I have a list of recipients that is getting longer, but nothing to give them. I start off on my list, giving to my Temple. I have this dream of giving them a new roof with the name UCHITELLE
tiled into the roof. This idea I got from driving to our cottage through farm land and seeing farmers have their names roofed onto their barns. They use a different color tile for the name. I think this would be a good legacy to leave behind. You could
see it from the air, but not from the ground. Less ostentatious that way. Another disappointment that I have is that I always wanted one of those high end,in color stoves that I see in magazines. Instead, I have a mid priced Whirlpool electric stove that hates
me, and I ,it. My disappointments are not overwhelming, but I do want to make them known ,in case someone 1. leaves me a winning lottery ticket, 2. puts a car with a red ribbon in my carport, or 3. leads me to a dog so that it can literally follow
me home. Is this too much to ask? I understand from watching TV that this is the season for giving. I'm a good taker.
