ON THE BACK BURNER

If I taught my daughter anything, it is to eat your beef rare, very rare.I think I taught her all of the important rules of life . Eat your meat rare, cook your eggs until they are really hard and call home, or better yet, visit. In thinking about our children, they live in 3 states and one foreign country. They eat from Kosher, to vegetarian ,to hardly anything ,to low on the food chain. Depending on who is visiting, my fridge can have brisket and mashed potatoes, watermelon, beans and rice and a tofu dish. Three out of four will go for the bagels and lox. One out of four will take the brisket. Everyone goes for beans and rice and watermelon is in neutral territory. Grandkids are easier. If you cook it, they will eat it. A lot of it. Bob and I just sit back and inhale them. We'll take all of the food choices , make runs to the grocery for favorite pickles, and more of anything we think they might want. Its our joy.
