ON THE BACK BURNER

This is the once a month that I can talk about Noodle. I chose today, because a mini miracle happened for him. On our walk this afternoon, he ran. This is the first time ,since we got him three months ago that he ran. He usually waddles in front of the leash. I was really excited because he came to us with a healing fracture of the pelvis. And he seemed so happy. He was still playful when we got in the house. He barked. He was that excited. He is such a sweet dog that I still have a problem understanding how he got into a kill shelter in Miami. Cricket was a special dog. There will never be another Cricket. I think the Vet was surprised that after three days, I said it was time to let her go. I saw that her eyes were different, they were empty. I knew that something was different. Her soul had already left. She wasn't our Cricket anymore..Noodle has helped us with the grieving process. He doesn't do much, but he has become so endearing. He is not a very exciting dog. He doesn't have one trick that I know of, but he wags his tail at the appropriate times, he gives me kisses(sometimes) ,he looks for me when he walks around the house. I even think that his vision might be a little better. This makes me very happy .Now I know that the drops that we faithfully put in twice a day  and the kibbles that we feed him , the once a week trip to the vet to clean what ever is his ear problem, plus his joint chews , are making a positive change. I am thinking that he might not be as old as we first thought. Good care and love doesn't hurt any living thing. That would be good news all around..
