ON THE BACK BURNER

Who passed this early gene on to me. Getting up so early is a curse. Its Sunday, for Pete's sake. You are suppose to sleep in. I never understood why it is called"sleeping in",either. I would like to experience this at least once. Once I did sleep until about 6:45. I felt out of sorts all day. When I do set an alarm because of an early flight, I wake up every hour to check it. I have the simplest of alarm clocks. L.L. Bean travel clock. It has only a few functions. Set, Off, On. It woks just fine for me. My Boot Camp instructor says that he uses two alarms to get himself up. I've heard of people who set their alarms across the room, forcing them to get up and turn them off. I think that my Daddy was an early riser. And I don't remember having an alarm clock in the house. My Mother, on the other hand, was a night owl. I never remember her going to sleep. But I know that she didn't start her day early unless she had to. I was always the first one to go to sleep, even as a teen ager. And the second one up. My Daddy was up and out before I was. Why did I get on this subject. Maybe because everyone in my house is still sleeping, it's dark outside and I want to get going with the day. I'll have another cup of coffee while I'm waiting.
